Hey y'all,
So I now have my Fender and he is sooooo sweet. I named him Vincent. I put a pic of him to the right. He loves the name. Anyhoo, I now have a digital recorder and tonight I
recorded one of the songs I sang at The Porch. You can find it in the Audio section.
And finally, I got to play with my favorite band tonight "Cadillac". Originally I had asked James if he would play and he said yes and then Rudy walked in and James said "Hey, mind if
Rudy plays too?" I said I didn't mind. Then Mark was sitting across the table from me and I asked him if he wanted to play drums for me he said yes and last but not least, I saw Mike
and asked him if he wanted to play harp for me and he said yes. For those who might not know, in the music world unless you are in a orchestra a harp is actually a harmonica. I
was so excited to finally play with a band. And, of course, I thanked and re-thanked the Caddy several times.
That was just sooooooooooo much fun.

Well, life is still enjoying kicking me in the teeth. The new place I've been playing had a fire and won't re-open for at least two months. Dang.

Guess what? I have a Fender Squire Strat on layaway at Front Porch Music. I can't wait to pick it up!! I was hoping I could start practicing on it this weekend but as goes all things finances

Hey y'all,
Now I'm regularly playing about a block and a half away from the old Esspress Yourself at a place called Anneliesje's Bagels. It's also a coffee shop and it has an open mic night on
Tuesdays. Well, the really great news is I will be host for the first time ever at Anneliesje's coming up on the 29th. I will start at 7p.m. so come early and don't miss a thing. I'm so excited
about this.
Also, the owners of Front Porch Music are opening a recording studio right here in Valparaiso, IN. So cool! Can't wait for that either.
I have color co-ordinated the schedule Anneliesje's is in gold, Front Porch Music is in dark red and the dates of my hosting are in royal purple. I hope that makes it easier to see.

Hey y'all,
I got some really weird news. No it isn't an April fool's joke either it's really real.
The place I normally play on Monday nights, Espress Yourself, has suddenly closed. No reason given, they just closed. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen the empty coffee shop
for myself. The sign is gone, the furniture is gone the wall decor is gone...it just boggles my mind. We all thought they were doing pretty good business wise.
Weirdness.
Anyhoo, I'm going to do my best to continue to play at Front Porch Music until I can find another venue to play at.

Well my arm is better now and my playing is gettin' back to normal. I'm practicing some songs my parents like cause I'm gonna be playin' at their 50th anniversary party later this month.

Happy New Year Y'all,
Well, here it is a new year and a clean slate. We're all gonna have the best year yet I just know it.
As for me, I got my first gig of the year on the 21st so I expect to see all y'all down at Espress Yourself Coffeehouse. That reminds me...I need to get some new strings.
Well, Bobby-Lou and me been practicing real hard to get our playing better and I think y'all will be happy with the results.

Well, FPM had it's last concert prior to Christmas. We all had a great time and I mentioned that all four guys of Nomadic Cadillac were my mentors and that I thank them for that.

Yeah I know it's been a while. Sorry 'bout that. But, last Monday Bobby-Lou did real good at Espress Yourself (Bobby-Lou is the nick name for my guitar, I named him Robert Louis
Stevenson after my favorite Scottish author). Because he did so well I bought him some guitar bling. He got a sticker made of rhinestones that says "fabulous". Hee hee hee. Well, I hope

I have recently acquired an Ibenez Acoustic Guitar so for the next few weeks I will be getting used to it and only playing my guitar at my gigs. Not to worry I won't let B-jo be idle for long.
Check out the My Music section I have added a section called "This Month's featured Blues Singer". I'll be updating this Monthly, of course, and the featured singer profile will be moved to
the archives section as well at the end of that singers featured month. This month is Charles Brown. Yeah I know but, there really was a guy by that name.

I trust that y'all are havin' a great week. I know I am. I opened a bottle of Jones soda and was thanked for saving the eyesight of a child. That's just cool that they are so into helpin' others.
Anyhow, I had a great time at Esspress Yourself on Monday. I hope more of y'all will come along next Monday.
One of my brothers got into town and he brought along some recording equipment...WOO HOO!!!! So I hope to start recording VERY soon. In the mean time come on down to either

I have had a setback. My recorder is busted. Dang!! OK no real biggie I know but until I can get it replaced y'all gotta be set with whats on the audio page for now. SORRY. As soon as I
can afford a new recorder I'll be recording my own songs. It is so frustrating when a setback like this comes along and my fans can't benefit from my music.

I'm sure you are all wondering about me...well so am I from time to time. I've had some financial setbacks (life sucks). I haven't even had enough money to purchase batteries for my
recorder. So, no songs for the time being. HOWEVER, I will be debuting one of my own songs on Monday October 1st at Esspress Yourself. It's called "Shivers" come on down to the café
and have a great time listening to some great music I will have the money for batteries and I will be recording it!!!

I have recorded my entire set tonight and have posted it in the audio section the songs are Long Gone Lonesome Blues by Hank Williams and Glory Of Love by Big Bill Broozney. Now
remember that my recorder ain't a professional one so you might have to turn your speakers DOWN. It records kind of loud. I'm trying a new thing in the audio section instead of having it on
the windows media player I have put it on the RealPlayer.

Hi Y'all,
For those of you who were there last night...
I met Louis shortly after Neil left me. Louis was gorgeous. He was 6' tall with long blond hair and dark blue eyes, he was built like a quarterback and he had a smile that just wouldn't quit.
We fell in love.
Back then they weren't checking the entire blood supply for AIDS just the supply for the seedier parts of town. It never occurred to anyone that an AIDS infected drug addict would get on a
bus and go donate blood in Beverly Hills. But it seems that is what happened. When Louis went in for minor surgery he got dirty blood in the transfusion. AIDS can take as long as 20 years
to kill you or as short as 6 months. Louis got 9 months. If he hadn't had the surgery and only gotten the dirty blood in a transfusion we would have had a few years together. But his body
was already immune-suppressed from the surgery so the disease spread quickly.
We buried him on September 30th, 1995. I didn't think I still missed him this much. I hadn't cried over him like that since the funeral. I'm sorry that I wasn't able to give you a better show
last night. I'll do better Monday.

Well hi y'all,
I just wanted to stop by and say I really hope you enjoy this site. I have never been happier in my life now that I am finally pursuing my life long dream. I have found myself in very stressful
situations lately and smiling through them just because I know I have my music waitin for me.
Tonight I'm singin Linda Ronstadt's "You're No Good". I'm gonna be putting it up in the audio section so look for it.
I now have a feed back form in the Contact me section and I do get the messages from it. The only thing is that once the message has been sent you just need to hit your back button and
then clear form button. I am still learning how to do all this and I'm doin it by myself so please be patient with me.
Now I know some of ya don't know nothing about the blues so from time to time i'll be tellin ya about it. Those who already do know about the blues please feel free to notify me about any
mistakes I might put up here. Hopefully there will be very few.

Sorry this update has been so long in coming but I've had a computer meltdown. My computer decided it was time to retire, so it did. I've only now been able to update my site and blog.
So, did ya have a nice summer and do ya miss it yet? hehehe I hate the cold and yet here I am in Indiana, YIKES!!! But that's OK because if I had been anywhere else I might never had
made my CD.
Oh and speaking of CDs I have enough songs for another one but, I have to wait as I have yet to make enough from the last one to pay it off and it only cost me $400 to produce. (hint, hint)
